Scala Delivers 10L/Day Liquid Nitrogen Generator to Dermatology Clinic in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA
May 25, 2026 — Earlier this month, Scala successfully delivered a liquid nitrogen generator to a dermatology clinic in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. The unit, model LNS10A with a daily output of 10 liters, perfectly meets the clinic's liquid nitrogen consumption of 5 to 8 liters per day across its two locations.
This delivery marks not only Scala's first direct export of this type of equipment to the U.S. market but also a significant strategic milestone for the company as it officially enters one of the world's largest cryogenic equipment markets.
Hawaii's "Island Supply Chain" Challenge Solution
Honolulu's location in the middle of the Pacific Ocean has long created a unique "island supply chain" challenge for liquid nitrogen users. Industries such as agricultural research, tourism, healthcare, and medical aesthetics depend on a stable supply of liquid nitrogen, yet traditional sourcing from the U.S. mainland often involves high transportation costs, long delivery lead times, and vulnerability to shipping disruptions and price fluctuations.
The LNS10A Liquid Nitrogen Generator provides a practical localized solution to this problem. Designed as a true plug-and-play system, the unit requires no complicated installation—users simply connect power and the generator is ready for operation. Its compact footprint and low-noise design allow it to be installed directly inside clinics, laboratories, or research facilities without requiring dedicated infrastructure or external storage tanks.
To meet the stringent electrical safety and certification standards required in the U.S. market, Scala has carried out a series of comprehensive localization upgrades to the standard liquid nitrogen generator platform. These enhancements are specifically designed to improve operational safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental adaptability for long-term use in demanding applications across the United States, including island regions such as Hawaii.
1. Specialized Cable Upgrade
The system is equipped with a premium industrial-grade power cable certified to both UL standards and SOOW oil-resistant insulation standards. The upgraded cable provides excellent resistance to oil, abrasion, moisture, and harsh environmental exposure, ensuring stable and reliable electrical performance even under demanding operating conditions.
2. Air Circuit Breaker Optimization
The unit is equipped with flange-type air circuit breakers from the EATON brand, compliant with the UL489 standard. This model delivers exceptional performance in both short-circuit protection and thermal overload protection. The flange-type mounting structure facilitates secure fixation and easy maintenance inside the equipment, meeting the stringent requirements for high-reliability electrical components in industrial field applications.
3. High-Efficiency Medical Grade Sterilizing Filter
To ensure exceptional liquid nitrogen purity and compliance with stringent medical hygiene standards, the system is equipped with a high-performance medical sterilizing filter manufactured by Walker. The integrated filtration solution effectively removes microorganisms, fine particles, oil aerosols, and contaminants from the gas stream, helping maintain consistently high nitrogen purity throughout operation.
4. Optimized User Interface (UI)
The user interface has been comprehensively redesigned to improve operational efficiency and enhance the overall user experience. Key system information is presented more clearly and intuitively, allowing operators to monitor equipment status, operating parameters, and system conditions at a glance. The intuitive control system reduces operator training requirements, lowers daily operating complexity, and makes the equipment easy to use in clinics and laboratories.
5. Export-Compliant Packaging
To simplify international shipping and customs clearance, the equipment is packed in a standardized fumigation-free export plywood crate manufactured by a specialized publicly traded packaging company. The packaging complies with international phytosanitary standards, helping avoid customs delays and improving shipping security during overseas transportation.
Strategic Significance: Entering the U.S. Market
Although modest in scale, the Hawaii project carries important strategic value. It demonstrates that Scala's cryogenic equipment can adapt to the complex supply chain conditions of island regions while meeting stringent U.S. requirements for electrical safety and operational performance through comprehensive localization upgrades.
This project marks another milestone after Canada project last month for the North American market. Moving forward, we will continue expanding applications across healthcare, biological research, and premium food service industries.
