Liquid Nitrogen Pump
SYDP Series - Liquid Nitrogen Pump
SYDP liquid nitrogen pumps are designed to deliver stable liquid nitrogen output and controllable 0~2.5 liters per minute adjustable flow rate by adjusting pressure to maintain a constant and steady discharge.
· Real-time liquid level display
· Low liquid level alarm, high-pressure alarm
· Real-time pressure display
· RS-485 communication interface
· 0~2.5 liters/min flow rate
SYDS series liquid nitrogen pumps are designed to transfer liquid nitrogen from non-pressurized tank with adjustable steady and continuous flow. The pumps offer a safer, measurable, and automatic alternative to the risky practice of pouring it by hand. Further more, liquid nitrogen pumps minimize heat input and lower the chances of liquid nitrogen contamination, making them a more and more important equipment in laboratories.
Applications
Cryogenic cooling has many applications in modern scientific and engineering research. This type of cooling is commonly achieved by bringing a cryogenic fluid, such as liquid nitrogen (LN2), into direct contact with an apparatus. When a continuous flow is required, and in order to reduce the need for human intervention, it is greatly preferable to use a liquid nitrogen pump.
The design of a LN2 pump presents several technical challenges:
1. Cryogenic temperature
Most metals and elastomers become extremely brittle at cryogenic temperatures (-196°C / -321°F). A material that is tough at room temperature can shatter like glass when cold.
2. Thermal Insulation
The pump requires sophisticated insulation to minimize heat influx. The design must also ensure that the fluid path is as cold as the liquid itself to prevent boiling before it enters the pump.
3. Motor Performance
A standard electric motor mounted directly to the pump will act as a massive heat source, boiling the fluid and causing flash vapor which can block the pump inlet, causing cavitation, which reduces efficiency and can damage the pump.
4. Alarm
Constant pumping liquid nitrogen from the tank will eventually casue liquid nitrogen running out, so precise liquid nitrogen level sensor and in time alarm is crucial, especially for on-going experiment or valuable biological samples.
5. Mechanical stress
The pump undergoes massive temperature swings each time it is started and stopped (from room temperature to -196°C and back). This repeated expansion and contraction creates immense mechanical stress on all components, leading to fatigue and potential failure over time.
Features of SYDP series pumps
